A new wedding begins in this month's Ice Pick. Saf & Jodie's day is another of Jerry's 'typical' weddings, starting with bridal coverage and showing what can be achieved with just window light in one room. Posing & Lighting continues the parking lot shoot, this time with an example of how to back light a groom and fill using a reflector for a strong contemporary portrait. Advice is again the normal format, with Jerry providing an audio critique of a member's album, folio 'best' images and potential competition entry image. Ice Queen Lisa was photographed during a seminar at Skip's Summer School and Jerry demonstrates how to create beautiful portraits in a variety of lighting situations including direct sunlight, overcast, off camera flash, reflector and video light. Practice provides some clear steps in when and why to use a reflector and shallow depth of field to create stunning portraits. There's also an example of how Jerry puts an Elinchrom Quadra to good use. Melissa's presentation on customer service continues in Tip of the Iceberg this month as eye contact and voice are discussed. The Icing on the Cake continues the 'Obsessed with Light' presentation, this time Jerry discusses using a naked flame as the illumination source be that candlelight, cigarette lighter or candelabra.
